Fantasy Football in Minor League Baseball Offseason

One of the ways that the guys on our team have kept in touch with each other is playing Fantasy Football. Fantasy Football provides us with many different reasons to play. For some the love of football is the only reason they need, while others need it to fulfill their competitive nature. Others just love to keep in touch with everyone via the message boards.

For obvious reasons many players are huge sports fans. Playing Fantasy Football provides us a way to stay more involved. Me being one who has never played until this year, I have found that it makes the games much more interesting. While watching a game I will notice how well or how bad my players are playing, thus making the game much more interesting to me.

Competition is something that is in the veins of a professional player. If you did not like to compete, then you would not be playing at this level. So an obvious part of playing Fantasy Football is the competitive nature. Each week you match up against an opponent who is also a teammate. Without question you do not want to lose!

Lastly just keeping in touch with all of the guys is a huge part of the league. In our particular league there are 10 teams in the league. This is made up of 9 players and one coach. Throughout the week i would estimate there to be around 30 messages posted. These range from personal updates to smack talk, with a huge emphasis on the smack talk.
